Get Involved
Volunteer, donate materials, support our fundraisers, or nominate a place for a historical marker.
Volunteer
We welcome help with indexing and scanning the collection, staffing the library, cemetery cleanings, inspecting markers and running events like the Haunted Jail. No experience is needed.
Come to a meeting
Commission meetings are held at the old jail and everyone is welcome. Watch the events page for the next date.
Donate photographs, papers and books
Family photographs, letters, church and school records, business papers and local books all help tell the county’s story. Get in touch before bringing items so we can talk about what you have. We can often scan and return originals if you want to keep them.
Historical markers
If a building, cemetery, church or event in Jasper County deserves a Texas Historical Marker, we can help you with the application to the Texas Historical Commission. You can also tell us about a marker that is damaged or missing.
