What you can find in our library, and how to get help with your research.

Our research library in the old jail is open to the public. Because the Commission is run by volunteers, please call ahead or send a message before you make a trip so someone can be there to help you.
In the library
- Family history books and compiled genealogies
- Family files in the filing cabinets, organized by surname
- Family collections donated to the library
- Texas county records, from Anderson County onward
- Records and histories from other states
- Military and colonial records
- Texas history books and the Historical Quarterly
- Jasper and area high school annuals
- Jasper News-Boy microfilm and U.S. Census film
- The 1929 scholastic census of Jasper County’s Black schools
